About The Business Fair
The Acton Children’s Business Fair ignites creativity, confidence, and an entrepreneurial spirit in young minds.
For one exciting morning, children get the chance to launch their own businesses, turning their ideas into reality and learning real-world skills through hands-on experience.
Kids ages 6 to 14 dream up a product or service, design a booth, and sell to real customers in a bustling, open-air marketplace—just like a farmer’s market! As they pitch their ideas and make sales, judges will walk the aisles, recognizing innovation, creativity, and hard work with special awards.
Past fairs have featured businesses as unique as: Handmade greeting cards filled with personal touches, a pet-sitting service for exotic birds, a photobomb booth capturing fun memories, and a lemonade stand that donated part of its profits to save honeybees. The possibilities are limited only to what children can create!
What original started in Austin, Texas, has now grown into a global movement—with over 1,500 fairs, 50,000 young entrepreneurs, and events in 500+ cities across 20 countries.
About The Organizers
This Children’s Business Fair is organized and sponsored by Acton Academy Blue Ridge. This is a school where learning is an adventure… not a chore.
We are an innovative school that equips young people to be independent, master real-world skills, and build healthy relationships. We prepare young people to succeed at life, not just tests.
Our non-traditional approach to education emphasizes self-directed, hands-on, peer-to-peer learning. We are a tight-knit, learner-led community of entrepreneurial families in Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
